Roy Strowd, MD, MEd, MS, FANA

Roy Strowd, MD, MEd, MS, FANA, is professor of neurology, Cancer Medicine, and interim chair of neurology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Studies from Duke University and his medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He completed residency training at Wake Forest and fellowships in neuro-oncology and education research at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He also holds a Master of Education in the Health Professions from Johns Hopkins School of Education and a Master of Science from the Wake Forest. A board-certified neurologist, Dr. Strowd specializes in neuro-oncology. As an educator, he is dedicated to helping learners discover and pursue their passions. He chairs the eLearning subcommittee for the American Academy of Neurology and serves as editor of Neurology: Education. His research applies a neurocentric approach to translational neuro-oncology, advancing therapies for glioma and improving quality of life for patients with brain tumors and inherited tumor syndromes. He has authored over 140 publications.
