Keith Vossel, MD, MSc, is the Michael M. Minchin, Jr., President, J.D. French Alzheimer’s Foundation Endowed Chair, director of the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center–Biomarkers in Neurodegenerative Disease, and professor of peurology at UCLA. He leads a multidisciplinary program dedicated to advancing early recognition and treatment of dementia while developing innovative therapies. Dr. Vossel received a master’s degree in biomedical engineering and medical degree from the University of Tennessee. He completed his neurology residency at Harvard’s Massachusetts General and Brigham and Women’s Hospitals, where he served as chief resident, followed by a fellowship in behavioral neurology and dementia research at UCSF and the Gladstone Institutes.
Dr. Vossel investigates Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, focusing on brain rhythm abnormalities, novel pathological functions of tau and translational therapies. His pioneering research on the incidence and impact of epileptic activity in Alzheimer’s disease has catalyzed new global field of study and continues to shape research worldwide.
