Sarosh Irani, DPhil, is a clinician-scientist who established the Oxford Autoimmune Neurology Group and is now professor of neurology and neurosciences at the Mayo Clinic Florida. His contributions to the field include the discovery of LGI1 and CASPR2 antibodies, their related phenotypes, particularly faciobrachial dystonic seizures, their HLA associations and the immunology underlying autoimmune encephalitis and neuromyelitis optica syndromes. His work highlights clinical phenotypes and characterizes the cellular immunology underlying these conditions towards disease causation and cure. He has an H-index of 75, has published over 240 peer-reviewed publications and is associate editor at the journal Brain.
