Rajarshi Mazumder, MD, MPH, is a physician-scientist and epileptologist at the University of California, Los Angeles focused on advancing equitable epilepsy care through global health research. Over the past decade, he has built longitudinal, community-based epilepsy cohorts in Los Angeles and East Africa, contributing to the identification of novel epileptic syndromes and scalable solutions to reduce the epilepsy treatment gap. His NIH-supported work through the Fogarty International Center has defined environmental, genetic, and electrophysiologic mechanisms underlying nodding syndrome and other onchocerciasis-associated epilepsies. In addition, he also leads global health AI initiatives in Uganda to structure pediatric epilepsy data and develop decision-support tools for anti-seizure medication selection. His work aims to build transparent, generalizable AI platforms that translate expert-level neurological care into scalable tools across health systems.
