Joanna Mattis, MD, PhD

Joanna Mattis, MD, PhD, completed her education at Stanford University and an adult neurology residency and epilepsy fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, where her research was supported by an R25 fellowship, an NINDS K08 career development award and a Taking Flight Award from CURE Epilepsy. Dr. Mattis joined the faculty at the University of Michigan in 2022 and heads an NIH-funded laboratory investigating mechanisms of the postictal state, epilepsy comorbidities and SUDEP.
