Halinder Mangat, MD, MSc

Halinder Mangat, MD, MSc, is a professor in the Department of Neurology and a neurocritical care specialist with The University of Kansas Health System. He joined KU Medical Center in 2021 after eight years on the faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. He is an adjunct assistant professor at Weill Cornell Medical College, adjunct associate professor at Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, Bethesda, and is director of research for the Brain Trauma Foundation. Dr. Mangat also serves as a permanent council member of the G4 Alliance.
Dual certified in internal medicine and neurology, Dr. Mangat spent two years as a research fellow in neurochemistry at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, and subsequently completed his fellowship in neurocritical care at Addenbrooke’s Hospital/Cambridge University Hospitals, UK. He also earned a master’s degree in public health for global practice from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Dr. Mangat’s interests are evidence synthesis and clinical trials in TBI. Additionally, he is an expert in global neurotrauma and is a prominent participant in multiple endeavors including with the World Health Organization.
