Greg Cooper, MD, PhD, is a behavioral neurologist practicing at the Norton Neuroscience Institute in Louisville, Kentucky, where he serves as chief of Adult Neurology and director of the Memory Center. He attended the University of Kentucky, where he received his PhD in 1992 and his MD in 1994. He then completed his residency and fellowship training at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics under the direction of Dr. Antonio Damasio. He directed the Memory Disorders Clinic at Iowa briefly before returning to Lexington to join Dr. William Markesbery at the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging at the University of Kentucky.
Later, he joined the Baptist Neurology Center, where he led the Baptist Health Memory Care Program and was Regional Physician President of the Baptist Health Medical Group before joining NNI in 2021 to head the adult neurology program and form the memory center. In addition to clinical practice, he has served as PI of numerous clinical trials primarily in the field of Alzheimer’s disease and has authored numerous manuscripts and chapters. He is a Fellow of both the AAN and AAPL and current board member of the AAN.
