Peter LaViolette, PhD, holds the Robert C. Olson, MD, Professorship in Radiology, is vice chair of research and director of the Quantitative Imaging Laboratory within the Section of Imaging Research at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). Dr. LaViolette earned his PhD in Biophysics at MCW in 2011 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship, also at MCW, in 2012. The overall goal of Dr. LaViolette’s lab research is to create and validate imaging techniques that improve both patient outcomes and treatment efficacy. He primarily works with brain cancer in a translational setting while collaborating with clinicians for the betterment of patient care. Research conducted in Dr. LaViolette’s lab has been focused on characterizing brain tumor invasion with radio-pathomic mapping and has been continuously funded by the NIH since 2017.
