Paul Katz, MD, FANA

Paul Katz, MD, FANA, is professor and chairman of the Department of Neurology at Temple University, director of inpatient neurology services, and neurologist-in-chief for Temple University Health System. He received his training at Boston University and later at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He did a fellowship in cerebral blood flow and metabolism and stroke at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
After fellowship, Dr. Katz joined the neurology faculty at Albert Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center in New York, where he eventually became Chief of Neurology, Director of the Stroke Service, and Residency Program Director. Prior to his arrival at Temple, Dr. Katz was Medical Director of the Renown Institute for Neurosciences in Reno, Nevada, a post he held for 10 years.
Dr. Katz’s research interests include functional brain imaging as it relates to stroke, stroke clinical trials, and the development of Stroke Systems of Care including telemedicine. He has been principal investigator or co-investigator on more than 30 clinical trials in stroke.
Dr. Katz is Fellow of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, the ASA and the ANA.
