Mill Etienne, MD, MPH, FAAN, FAES, FANA

Mill Etienne, MD, MPH, FAAN, FAES, FANA, is director of neurology at Good Samaritan Hospital, visiting scholar at Tuskegee University’s National Center for Bioethics in Research and Health Care, and past president of the New York State Neurological Society. He also directs the “Multiculturalism in Medicine” and “Impact of War on Medicine” electives for fourth-year medical students.
A captain in the U.S. Navy and executive officer of the USNS Comfort Reserve Unit, Dr. Etienne previously founded and directed the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He has served in humanitarian and public health missions, including the Haiti earthquake response and the COVID-19 response in New York City.
Dr. Etienne is a board-certified neurologist with subspecialty certifications in epilepsy, clinical neurophysiology, brain injury medicine, and public health. A fellow of leading neurology organizations, he is a Forbes contributor, an unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant to the NFL, and recipient of the 2025 AAMC Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award, the 2024 AAN DEI Changemaker Award, and the 2024 AMA Dedication to the Profession Award.
